Abstract

This study investigates modern craftsmanship application to “assistive device design”. The demand for assistive devices for daily-life movement and psychological rehabilitation by the elder people to achieve quality of life has grown with the aging of society. This article expresses the costume aesthetics concept through case study from product design integration with ultimate craftsmanship aesthetics, the function and power of modern craftsmanship are gathered to produce innovative aesthetics for assistive device design. This study hope to assist the designer (students) and crafters in applying craft aesthetics to help the elder people lifestyle infused into the product value. Developing cultural creativity and craftsmanship style of the multidisciplinary Design is a new experience enriching creativity and innovation in the quality life demands.
