A Parametrization of Neutrino Physics (Ii)

Project: National Science and Technology CouncilNational Science and Technology Council Academic Grants

Project Details

Abstract

As an alternative approach to the neutrino physics, a rephasing invariant parametrization will be applied to the study of neutrino phenomenon, in which certain issues related to the underlying physics may not be transparent and easily grasped using the standard one. We place our focus on the following three related topics: (i) products and combinations of the elements of neutrino mixing matrix, (ii) neutrino mixing and flavor transition in matter, and (iii) the Renormalization Group evolution of the neutrino parameters. As an extension to the previous work, it is the aim of this project that a better understanding of the parameters and the flavor structure can be established, and the results may provide useful insight to the underlying physics at a more fundamental level.
