Abstract

The classic book selected for translation in this project is Administrative Behavior by Herbert A. Simon, published by The Free Press in 1945 (and the 4th edition in 1997). This book explores how the decision processes in an organization, and the people who make these decisions, affect the behavior of the organization and all the workers within the organization. Since this “rational decision-making” exists in all social behaviors and work environments, this book not only started the discipline of Administrative Behavior but also extended its influence into other areas for the following 60 years. The project plans to fulfill the following requirements: (1) collect and study the literature related to the issues appeared in the book; (2) write a Chinese version of introduction for the book; (3) provide a complete Chinese translation of the original book which was written in English.
