Abstract

This proposal aims at developing directional couplers with bandpass responses. Based on the developed miniaturized dual-mode single-ring and multi-mode multi-ring resonator structures, branch-line and hybrid ring couplers are synthesized with bandpass responses with aids of the coupling matrix theory. In addition, creation of transmission zeros and wide upper stopband will also be taken into the design consideration. In the entire proposal, emphasis is placed on the synthesis and the realization of the circuits, including possible transmission zeros at designated frequencies. Circuits will be fabricated and measured for validation of the ideas. It is expected to produce at least one IEEE MTT-S IMS paper, one IEEE TMTT and one IEEE MWCL journal papers under the support of this proposal.
