Abstract

In recent years, the urging and rising of blogging phenomena have led a great many fields of scholars to investigate related research. In this two-year project, we will focus on the social network analysis of blogosphere and try to propose a new system architecture that is more suitable for bloggers’needs. To understand the online interactions within blogosphere, in the first year, we will choose the major Blog Service Providers in Taiwan as samples to conduct basic statistics analysis and network topology analysis, revealing and investigating the changing and growing of blogosphere. In the second year, besides continuing observation on blogosphere, we will try to develop a new blogging system architecture according to the analytical results of the first year project. Our preliminary idea is to redesign the client/server blogging system into a peer-to-peer (P2P) one, reducing the weaknesses of client/server systems and taking the advantages of P2P systems. We hope this two-year project can help other researchers to understand present phenomena and future trend in blogosphere, and can provide a new blogging service architecture better then client/server blogging systems can do.
