Abstract
相較於西方人以第二型(type 2)發炎反應、嗜酸性白血球浸潤為主的鼻息肉、國人(亞洲)之鼻息肉組織有高達四成的病人為非第二型(non-type 2)發炎。在第二型發炎的鼻息肉中也有超過半數病患為混合型(mixed type)的發炎。然而目前對於非第二型的鼻息肉的發炎機轉研究相對較少，治療上還是以手術加上抗生素(macrolides)與鼻腔沖洗為主，對於手術反應不佳之個案並沒有如生物製劑等新的標靶治療可以使用。透過本研究，分析國人非第二型慢性鼻竇炎併鼻息肉患者之臨床、病理組織特徵與分子標記(biomarker)，探討相關臨床與分子標記預測疾病表現與治療反應的可能。在醫療上可以找出非第二型發炎鼻竇炎併鼻息肉之臨床特性，發展適合國人鼻竇炎併鼻息肉的內、外科治療方式，改善治療效果。未來更有機會開發鼻竇炎併鼻息肉其他潛力生物標記，開發新的診斷方法及治療息肉型鼻竇炎的藥物。
