Project Details

Abstract

This project uses data from National Health Insurance Research dataset to evaluate the impact of limiting reimbursement of osteoporotic medication on physician’s prescription behavior and patients’ prognosis (re-fracture after a certain period). This project also estimates the impact of market competition on the impacts including patient’s prognosis (re-fracture after a certain period) and physician’s prescription behavior after policy. Data are from Longitudinal Health Insurance Database of NHIRD data set from 1996-2014. In order to evaluate all hypothesis in this project, this study uses a series of estimation including nonlinear probability models such as logit model or probit model, and generalized linear model(GLM) to estimates all policy effects.
