Abstract

The quality of a process or product might be characterized by a relationship between a binary response and a linear function of explanatory variable. To control such process or products, we might evaluate this relationship from time to time to make sure their quality. Many researchers have contributed their methods for these applications. Usually they collected a set of data to run a logistic regression at each time and use the regression results to evaluate their performance. Some used T2 statistic of parameters, some used EWMA version of T2. Recently, Shang, Tsung and Zou (2011) showed a better version of EWMA than the previous version. However, this version has to use all the data collected now and before to estimate parameters. This makes the estimation method more complicated at the latter times when the controlling process last very long. This is not practical. We intend to find a procedure for practical use in this project.
