Abstract

The Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the treatments offered by health care system in Taiwan. For the lacking of the Traditional Chinese Medical care outcome measurement, the purpose of this study is to develop a quality of life measurement instrument for quantifying the effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medical care and evaluate its validity and reliability. Developed out of concerns over health-related quality of life, the instrument will assess different domains and factors in patients with Traditional Chinese Medical care. A literature review, four questionnaires (Sickness Impact Profile, Medical Outcome Survey Short Form-36, Nottingham Health Profile, Taiwan-version of questionnaire of WHO Quality Of Life brief form) will be first performed, followed by experts and lay panel. A cross-sectional and longitudinal survey design will be used. A purposive sample will be recruited from outpatient services, administration.
