Abstract
A new type of noncontact vital sign monitoring system that adopts the frequency shifting key (FSK) signal, will be proposed in this project. This new type of system cannot only detect the vital signs of the human under detection, but also can obtain the information of the distance between the target and the radar. The vital signal radars will also adopt hardware circuits to eliminate the DC offset caused the LO leakage as well as the clutter signal. Due to the precise phase information of FSK signal are required to determine the distance between the target and the radar, therefore, the proposed structure of vital signal radar will adopt the adaptive DC offset compensation circuit to eliminate the effect of LO leakage. Then an automatic phase detection circuit will be developed to find the phase difference between two FSK detection signals, which cannot only provide the phase to cancel with the clutter signals, but also obtain the optimum condition for detecting vital signs. Besides, a broadband phase array antenna will be developed based on the broadband phase shifter we realized in previous project. Thus, the information about the direction, the distance and the vital signs of the target can all be determined with using the proposed FSK vital sign monitoring systems.
