Effect of Using a Scenario Simulated Teaching for Undergraduate Nursing Students in An Acute/Critical Care Nursing Course

Project: Ministry of EducationMinistry of Education Grants Research

Project Details

Abstract

For students, scenario simulated teaching is more effective than traditional teaching and it has also been widely applied in nursing education. Acute/Critical care is one of the most challenging tasks in medical treatment. When patients suffered from multiple symptoms, emergency managements neet to be conducted, along with unique techniques, instument monitoring and placate family. Collaborative teamwork is also essential when facing acute/critical card. Scenario simulated teaching allows nursing students to develop and accumulate their ability of acute/clinical care in a safe learning environment through a cruuiculum which design combined with theory and practice before entering the clinical practice. However, currently, teaching materials included multiple simulated senarios were not many and the use of validated evaluation tools was few. The purpose of the study is to use pre- and post-test research design to explore the effectiveness of self-reflection, insight, simulation learning effetiveness, and learning satisfaction among nursing undergraduates after finishing the acute/critical nursing care course.
