Abstract

The Digital human model (DHM) of development has been for years. Many country and industries are focus the application for DHM. However, with the setting of digital human body database, In addition to a few countries, such as the United States, Italy, Poland, Japan and Ireland and so on, , the elderly human body data is little to investigate research. Especially in Chinese the elderly human body database has not yet been developed. At present, the application of DHM focus on static dimensions, such as furniture, space design. The application of dynamic simulate also important area recently years, such as car design, operate design and working place design. These will be important direct of elderly human body research and product application. The research methods of this plan are as follows: Base on the elderly human body database, through the method of Template set up the landmarks and re-calculate dimensions data. Through the method establish elderly human body database. Through the Biomorphic tool simulate static human model (Functional posture) to study the relation between user and object. And combine motion capture simulate dynamic posture. Through the method establish the platform of elderly product design and human body information. The d platform would provide relation between elder and sitting equipment, and supply design information. The anticipated results of the three years sub-project are: (1)Establish elderly human body database: Base on the data from Taiwan Human Body Bank(Taibbk, http//:3d.cgu.edu.tw) re-set landmarks and dimensions data to establish usable database. (2) Simulate and test the human body data: establish elderly human body database. (3) Set and apply the static human body data: simulate the static relation between user and object to provide design information. (4) Set and apply the dynamic human body data: simulation the dynamic relation between user and object to provide design information. (5) Establish Chinese elderly product design and information platform: provide complete design information for elderly product. Let user and designer gain information for elderly product from the design information platform.
