Project Details

Abstract

project of「Embedded Biomedical-Wireless Sensor Network for Healthcare Applications〞takes advantage of the long-term service and experience of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital on the area of medical science. Thereby, based on the contribution and facilities, we want to develop the biomedical wireless-sensor network to pursue advanced high-quality living environment and working-area efficiency. For the purpose of integration among medical system, family healthcare and working environment, it is necessary to develop a software-embedded and sensor-based wireless network for healthcare applications. The integrated project includes six subprojects. Sub-project 1 of 「Design and fabrication of medical sensors〞 is to measure the data of human body-temperature, heartbeat, blood-pressure, pulsation and nurotransportation, uric acid and protein by our research on multi-channel urine detection as well as diabetes and carbohydrate by commercial products. Signal conditioning and amplifier for the following manipulation are developed through sub-project 2 of 「Interface-signal processing and chip design〞. Sub-project 3 of 「Sensor-based and UWB-wireless transceiver〞 performs the bi-direction data communication and picture transmission. Sub-projects 4 and 5 provide data and image processing to extract useful information and pattern recognition, respectively. Based upon the operating system, such as TinyOS, its embedded software on the gateway and nodes are implemented. The application program as developed by subproject 6 on the personal computer shows the extracted data, audio, image and video signals on the display for the prophylaxis and diagnosis of a diabetic as well as doctor diagnosis through web internet.
