Abstract
Digital image protection and authentication originate from digital watermarking technology. It has various characteristics to meet different requirements, such as content protection, content authentication, copyright management, and tamper detection, etc. After embedding protection and authentication information to digital images, it can ensure their reliability. Digital protection and authentication can be used in various digital multimedia and became an important issue in nowadays.Digital medical images are frequently used to diagnose illnesses and, in case of emergency, allow medical personnel to be adequately prepared for medical care even when the patient has not arrived. Protection and authentication for digital medical images are the last defense of medical information. During medical research and diagnosis, tampered or embedded digital watermarking could cause misdiagnosis and expose patient in danger of medical malpractice. General data hiding technology for medical images includes two major technologies. (1) Tamper detection: According to the medical image information to analyze whether the image has been tampered with. (2) Image recovery: The use of embedded confidential information, in order to respond to the tampered area information.Digital watermarking for digital medical information is required to meet the following three basic requirements. (1) Safe and reliable: The digital medical images transmitted to the medical personnel should be authenticated to avoid being tampered. (2) High quality: Embedded digital image can make the naked eye cannot identify the difference. (3) Blind recovery: Embedded digital image can be extracted and restored to the original image with no additional data to assist. This project will analyze the characteristics of medical images and the feature of embed image different digital watermarks for the network security of medical information transmitted by mobile device software. Based on Region of Interest (ROI) and Human Visual System (HVS), combine of digital medical image preprocessing module, fragile digital watermarking, concealed digital watermarking, chaos theory, to propose the protection and authentication techniques for digital medical images.
