Abstract

頭頸癌是台灣十大癌症之一,因其好發於中年男性,對家庭及社會造成相當的影響。嚼食檳榔為頭頸癌之危險因子,但其誘導致癌機制尚未清楚。本研究中,我們將全面探討微核酸分子在檳榔誘導頭頸癌中之角色。本計畫之研究結果,對社會、經濟、學術發展等面向的預期影響性如下。社會方面:更清楚了解嚼食檳榔而致癌之微核酸分子標誌,期可加速應用於危險族群或癌變早期之篩檢,提供篩檢工具。經濟方面:可加速開發以微核酸為頭頸癌之治療標的或預後之有效分子,提供臨床診治參考,提升醫療效益。學術方面:闡明檳榔誘發頭頸癌之細胞分子新機制,研究結果將出版於國際刊物,提升學術能量。
