Abstract
We want to study the optical properties and electric transport property of monolayer/several layer MoS2 films in pulsed-high-magnetic fields (40〜50 T).Although there are many studies that focus on the light absorption, photoluminescence, and Raman scattering of MoS2 thin films, we are interesting in the influence by applying high magnetic fields. In these two dimensional materials, the optical properties are affect by the carriers and excitons as well as charged electron-hole pairs (trions). By applying magnetic field, the Landau level presents, which will modified the optical spectrum. Usually, the change is small and out of the spectrometer’s resolution. The pulsed-high-magnetic-field system can generate much higher magnetic fields than superconducting magnets, then, the change of spectrum can be observed clearly. In addition, since the number of layer also affects the electronic band structure, we hope that the change of spectrum in high magnetic fields can be another method to tell how many layers in the MoS2 films. The temperature dependence of magnetic spectrum will be studied, too.
