Abstract

There is a increasing pattern on industrial value for Taiwan’s dialysis treatment industry. From viewpoint of Taiwan’s health care service market, the total global budget point is 420 hundred million point. This indicates the importance of Taiwan’s dialysis treatment industry. This study is going to use Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Research Data set to analyze the industry structure for dialysis treatment. The Aim 1 of this study uses the structure-conduct-performance (SCP) framework to analyze the structure change of Taiwan’s dialysis market. The aim 2 of this study focuses on three questions. First, this study tries to understand the impact of industry structure on the behavior of dialysis providers. Specifically, this study focuses on the behavior of firm integration. Second, this study also analyzes the impact of this integration on firm’s performance (ie. profit or dialysis utilization) and consumer’s welfare by ways of the ratio of infection duding dialysis. Third, this study analyzes in advance the interaction and feedback effect of market structure on the performance.
