Abstract

癲癇症是常見的神經學疾病,超過三分之一的病人為藥物難治型癲癇,又現今癲癇藥物治療的作用主要是抑制癲癇症狀發作而非改善或治療癲癇症致病或病理生理機轉。因此,發展能減輕或改變癲癇病理生理機轉的治療方式是當前重要的課題。本研究主要利用癲癇動物模型來探討關鍵的”中直鏈脂肪酸-癸酸”與”新型分支中鏈脂肪酸-2-丁基辛酸” 在癲癇治療中對神經保護的效果與炎性反應機制與相關基因的調節,本研究將了解並揭露更多癲癇的病生理機轉與有助於提供未來研發disease-modifying的癲癇治療策略的方向。
