Project Details
Abstract
The goal of this proposal is to advance an existing living related liver transplantation (LRLT) program from an experimental status to a practical therapeutic modality, with clinical and basic research.
We propose to undertake the following component research projects:
1. Establishment of living related liver transplantation in Taiwan as a practical therapeutic modality.
2. Noninvasive imaging diagnosis for living related liver transplantation.
3. Microchimerism and graft acceptance in living related liver transplantation.
4. Liver regeneration in the donors and recipients of living related liver transplantation.
As shall be detected in the proposal, these studies are designed to gain basic as well as practical information relevant to LRLT. We plan to hold regular weekly meeting and discussion in order to foster interactions and catalyze synergism between the clinicians and investigators. A system of external advisors will be established for consultation on problems that may arise during the course of this project.
