Abstract

全球目前約有上億人口受到精神疾病如思覺失調症的困擾,而受到中風、癲癇、老化、失智症等神經疾病所影響的人口更是遠大於此,世界各國積極地投資大腦神經科學的研究,說明了此學門是本世紀最迫切解決的難題之一。在台灣,如何有效診斷日益增多之病患,以降低醫療成本和社會負擔,是相當重要的課題,就技術層面而言,此目標需仰賴安全、有效、準確的神經影像方法來達成。有鑑於擴散磁振造影仍將是活體人腦神經纖維結構影像的主力,本計畫所擬定研發的技術平台將在基礎及臨床神經科學研究皆能有相當大的助益,未來可融合不同神經造影技術的優勢,進一步探索大腦複雜的運作模式以及疾病成因和機轉,為台灣、全球正蓬勃發展的研究領域作出實質貢獻。
