Abstract
Recently, with the increased popularity in mobile smart devices, innovative service upon mass customization or personalization are developed and improved. With the fact of increasing number in global obesity people and the increasing level of importance upon food safety, the theme of healthy diet has become increasingly important. More and more food companies have provided customized service, e.g., ordering a hamburger without onions, drinks with less sugar and no ices. This type of service is developed to meet each individual need, and to satisfy both preference and health requirements.
The research was planned to complete in two years. In the first year, the objective is to develop App tool and to conduct pre-test activity. The tool is developed with the two main functions. In the selection and recording of personalized food menu, users are allowed to modify the food attributes, way of cooking, and ingredients. As for the estimation of the diary intake, this would enable users to use hand-on things, e.g., credit card, coins as a comparator, and to drag, to point, and to scribble the portion of dietary intake.
This research belongs to healthcare design domain. The principal investigator aims to make best use of the resources provided by Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. An interdisciplinary team have been organized to enhance previous research results. Further research after this project will be expanded to include different target groups, e.g., senior citizens, and children. It is expected to develop such tool with convenient and efficient interface and to reach for the goal of personalized mobile health management.
