Abstract

本研究計畫將以第一原理計算來研究一些奈米尺度材料的物理性質。我們將探討以碳六十分子儲存氫分子的可能性,最近的一項實驗使這個構想大受鼓舞,而其潛在應用極廣。我們也將探究奈米硼氮管作為奈米電纜管的角色,在管內的各種材料將受到屏蔽及保護,不受外界環境影響。生化分子與奈米碳管之交互作用將加以研究,藉以利用碳管作為偵測與操作生物過程的工具。最後,奈米管或分子置於兩電極間之傳輸性質將受到研究,若帶有磁性雜質,自旋相關之傳輸應會明顯且離自旋電子應用不遠。以分子做傳輸則對分子電子學有進一步發展。
