Project Details

Abstract

Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) based polyurethane will be synthesized by reacting equal equivalent of 4,4-methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene with chain extender. The HTPB based polyurethane will be modified by UV and Co-60 radiation with N-isopropyl acrylamide monomer to getpoly(N-isopropylacrylamide) modified polyurethane (PUNIPAAm). Properties ofPUNIPAAm will be evaluated. In order to evaluate the biocompatibility of these membranes, a cytotoxicity test and cell adhesion and proliferation assay will be conducted in cell culture. The PUNIPAAm for the cell culture will form cell sheet and the detachment of cell sheet will be discussed in the study. The application of cell sheet for tissue engineering also will be evaluated.
