Abstract
Osteoporosis is one of the women’s and the elderly’s chronic diseases. The most
fundamental way of preventing osteoporosis is "prevention is better than cure." Our
government has published "Osteoporosis Clinical Guidelines", and the guideline is also
published in U.S. National Clinical Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC). Clinicians can refer this
guideline to prevent osteoporosis, and diagnosis and treatment osteoporosis. Based on this
guideline, this project will team up an interdisciplinary research team consisting of clinical
care, information management, health fitness experts, to promote health community based on
the information and communication technologies (ICT), clinical knowledge of osteoporosis.
This project integrates the knowledge of health fitness, osteoporosis clinical knowledge and
user acceptance of information technology, information and communications technologies,
information security technologies, augmented reality technologies, to do the following seven
research topics:
1. Establishing a clinical knowledge base of Osteoporosis diet and fitness.
2. Designing several security and privacy protection mechanisms for cloud computing
platform.
3. Designing and implementing several augmented reality games for Osteoporosis fitness.
4. Designing and implementing a cloud-based and community-based self-management
platform of Osteoporosis healthcare and healthcare promotion.
5. Studying the effectiveness of ICT-based Osteoporosis health literacy improvement.
6. Promoting health community for Osteoporosis.
7. Studying the user acceptance of technology for ICT-based Osteoporosis healthcare and
