Abstract

了解骨骼性別差異(skeletal sexual dimorphism)的複雜性,除了可作為改善個體化醫學的診斷工具,更具有治療和預防骨骼疾病之功用。雄性激素不敏感症候群(AIS)患者以雌激素替代療法雖可刺激第二性徵,但往往會更加阻礙縱向骨骼生長。目前尚無治療身材矮小的方法。 完成這個計畫有助於:(i)探索和了解男性荷爾蒙受體(AR)在調節骨骼生長上對於性別差異的關鍵作用,(ii)揭示並提供AR在調控軟骨生成過程中影響表觀遺傳變化的新見解,(iii)選擇性地運用標定AR所調控的特定下游基因途徑,制定全新的治療策略,找出現有FDA批准的臨床使用藥物分子做為新型治療劑,來提高AIS患者的目標身高。
