Abstract
The quality of a process or product might be characterized by a linear function. To control such process or products, we might evaluate their linear profile from time to time to make sure their quality. Many researchers have contributed their methods for these applications. Usually they collected a set of data to run simple linear regression at each time and use the regression results to evaluate their performance. In this project, we intend to find another approach to create a method to simply controlling procedure. After the method is found, we use a simulation study to compare the performance of some of the recommended approaches with our methods on assessing the stability of the process and detecting shifts in the linear profile. An real example is also used for illustration.
