Abstract

With the rapid development of Internet, regardless of the enterprise itself or customers increasingly rely on the Internet to deal with important business. In recent years, hacker attacks continue to occur, information security becomes an important problem, and intrusion detection system is one of the major development projects and research issues. Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) is a software abstraction layer between operating system and computer hardware. Recent research results show that VMM is the best place to implement system security mechanism. Due to many good properties, virtual machine technology is more and more popular than before. How to execute the intrusion detection/prevention task on virtual machine environment is becoming an important research issue. In this project, we want to explore the design and implementation of intrusion detection/prevention technology on virtual machine environments.
