Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the effects of a school-based-family and physician involved intervention (SBF-P) on health behavior, cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors, and physical fitness for adolescents (7th grade of junior high school students). The specific aim for this study is to determine the short-, mid- and long-term health and fitness effects of three intervention groups of 7th graders (1) a school-based only group, (2) a school-based-family involved group, and (3) a school-based group with both family and physician involvement in weight maintenance for adolescents. The intervention study for this study will be a 8-week intervention. In addition to the 8-week intervention period, school at the experimental group will need to adhere the design of PE course during the study period until the study is ended.
