Abstract

金黃葡萄球菌為造成院內感染的主要病原菌之一,其生物膜主要是由多醣類黏菌素 (PIA) 構成生物膜的基質。我們研究顯示PIA具有調控其它致病因子的功能,尤其是透過SaeRS二元調控系統,影響許多致病因子的表現及與宿主的交互作用,更為突顯PIA在構築生物膜外的重要角色。本研究可以對金黃葡萄球菌的致病機轉、在宿主體內免疫反應及逃脫的機制有更多的瞭解及臨床應用可能性。PIA也可做為抗菌製劑的標地,成為對抗多重抗藥性菌株的策略。
