Project Details

Abstract

his research engages in the synthesis of microwave dual-band bandstop and bandpass filters. In modern communication systems, the miniaturization of circuits is an important issue as the development tendency of wireless communication components, which promotes the research of dual-band filters. According to the aforementioned, this proposal is divided into two parts: (1) Synthesis of dual-band bandstop filters: A compact dual-band bandstop filter that features two controllable stopbands at desired frequencies is constructed. Open-ended stepped-impedance resonators (Open-ended SIRs) are utilized to realize the dual-stopband characteristics, and reduce size. (2) Synthesis of dual-band bandpass filters: The dual-passband filter can be synthesized with the short-ended SIRs to obtain two controllable passbands and bandwidths at desired frequencies. Specially, such filters have the characteristic of very wide bandwidth. This proposal engages the synthesis of microwave dual-band filters, which can reduce the size and cost of the circuits, and is highly noticed in international literatures. The proposed resonator structures are easy and practical, it is believed that they will be adopted by the academic and industrial communities.
