Project Details

Abstract

The project is a two-year project. In this project, we introduce the development history of patent pools and the results in related literature. From the development history and the results in literature, we can understand that the patent pool is an important study issue during these years. In this project, we also illustrate a prototype model, and explain the study process and procedure of the two-year project by means of this prototype model. The main difference between our project and related literature is that we consider process innovation patents in our project, while the results of patent pools in literature is based on considering product innovation patents. In a word, under considering process innovation patents, we are going to study the patent pool issue in two cases. The first case is that anyone of the patent holders of the patent pool does not compete with its licensees in the final good market, and the other is that at least one patent holder competes with its licensees in the final good market.
