The Comparison between Specific and AD Valorem Taxes under Price Discrimination, the Vertically Differentiated Market and Successive Oligopolists

This is a three-year project. In this proposal, we give a detailed survey in the related literature in the issue of the comparison between specific and ad valorem taxes. Considering price discrimination in a monopoly, the quality differentiation between firms' products, and successive oligopolists, I respectively propose three core questions to these three issues, and meanwhile, bring up several models to answer these three questions. I also explain the detailed process to solve these models, and the possible contributions of the results of this project if the project can be approved.
