Project Details
Abstract
Extended from the project of last year, we will continually explore the sophisticated
digital characteristics in the persons with muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injury in this
project. Differently and moreover, the issues of intervention are included for the purpose of
enhancing clients’abilities to access computer in this research work. Therefore, this project
contains three major parts including (1) deeply exploring clients’ digital characteristics, (2)
comparing the effects of different alternative strategies, and (3) justifying the effects of the
training programs.
In the first year, we are going to use the mouse assessment tool, evaluation tool of
onscreen
keyboard performance, and “humancomputercontext
interaction assessment”,
developed by project III, IV and this project (II) respectively to deeply address clients’
digital characteristics. Then in the second year, the appropriate alternative resolutions and
training programs for each client will be developed and applied. Importantly, since some
alternative resolutions are possibly available to be used for each client, the best resolution
will be decided through conducting group experimental research, case studies, applied
behavioral analysis and single subject experimental research design.
