Project Details

Abstract

The people with Muscular Dystrophy are with severely impaired hand skills. They demonstrate restricted function. Sometimes, to use computer is necessary. However, the problems to operate regular computer system also exist for these students because of their poor hand performance. Therefore, we might establish “computer access environment” for the clients with Muscular Dystrophy. Basically the computer access environment include (1)high technology, (2)low technology, (3)Window’s accessibility, (4)Web accessibility, (5)software designed by our team, and (6)training courese. We hope the use of these strategies could successfully overcome the barriers of operating computer for the clients with muscular dystrophy. Firstly, we will evaluate clients’ performance of computer operation in detail and then we can provide intervention. Finally, we will substantiate the effects after our intervention through experimental research and case studies.
