Abstract

大腦「起」與「落」狀態目前局限於神經科學的研究。我們將「起」與「落」狀態的觀念引入至癲癇的研究,並且在嬰兒痙攣動物模型上發現其在癲癇產生上扮演重要角色。由於我們證明嬰兒痙攣屬於皮質癲癇,如果我們在另一種臨床常見的頑固型皮質癲癇—皮質發育不全相關癲癇—的動物模型上發現相同之關係,並藉由人工智慧機器學習證實這是預測癲癇產生的重要特徵,這將證實大腦「起」與「落」狀態可能是皮質癲癇的共同網路致病機轉,而皮質癲癇藉由過度活化「起」與「落」生理現象來產生癲癇病灶。此發現將有助發展傳統藥物外的癲癇精準醫療—針對大腦網路導致癲癇的致病機轉做高科技神經調控治療。
