Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for designing a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) based on passive control theory. Based on the energy balance principle, a dynamic model of the STATCOM is constructed as an Euler-Lagrange (EL) system; to simplify the computational complexity, the Park's Transformation is applied to convert the system triple-phase EL system into DC-AC EL system in which the model has taken the load variation into consideration. The design based on the passive control theory may be categorized into two aspects that the energy of the energy formation correction closed circuit system reaches the minimal potential of the predetermined balance point, and the error signal is determined to obtain a new energy function; and the damp injection increases the power consumption of the original system so that the system is more passive, and the controller design is completed to enable the DC-AC current of the STATCOM to regulate the real work, the virtual work and the DC voltage of the transmission wire, increasing the stability of the system.
