Abstract
An electromagnetic pulse protection circuit with filtering function consists of an LEMP protection circuit and a quickly responsive protection circuit. A filter can be connected in parallel to the signal transmission pathway to provide impedance and to prevent the electromagnetic pulse caused by the interference of lightening electromagnetic impulse (LEMP) or other electronic weapons (NEMP, HEMP, or PEMP). In addition, the filter can also inhibit certain frequency, so the electromagnetic pulse resistance capability of the electronic components can be enhanced. In addition, the bottom of the filter can be made of high temperature superconductor (HTSC), which can be switched to a high-resistance state in a short period of time when electromagnetic pulse is propagated into the HTSC; thus, the current passing through can be limited to prevent the power system from damage.
