Abstract
This invention unveils a method and associated biomarkers for assessing the risk and prognostic level of metastatic colorectal cancer. The evaluation is made by observing the expression levels of EV-miR-320c in extracellular vesicles (EV), identified as the biomarker in this invention. This measure helps determine the risk of an individual developing metastatic colorectal cancer. Furthermore, post-treatment, the expression levels of EV-miR-320c in EVs can be used to monitor the progression of the disease. The detection and monitoring methodology leveraging EV-miR-320c in EVs demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity.
