Abstract

A method and an apparatus for purifying and separating circulating tumor cells in blood by using non-contact and automatic identification are disclosed. The method of the present invention collects highly purified circulating tumor cells with high efficiency by utilizing, together with automatic identification of images, light-induced dielectrophoresis (LIDEP) to precisely control and separate marked tumor cells in blood. The method of the present invention at least comprises the following steps of: (1) obtaining blood containing suspicious rare cells from a test specimen ; (2) adding at least one florescent antibody for identifying rare cells into the blood; (3) placing stained blood cells into light-induced dielectrophoresis chip for fluorescence imaging identification; (4) selecting circulating tumor cells which express florescent antibody by using light-induced dielectrophoresis light pattern; (5) separating and absorbing the circulating tumor cells of the florescent antibody selected in the light-induced dielectrophoresis chip based on specificity; and (6) obtaining highly purified circulating tumor cells.
