Abstract

A three-beam switchable patch array antenna comprises: a substrate and a branch line coupler, wherein an upper surface of the substrate is provided with two rows of patch array antennas and a lower surface of the substrate is provided with a grounding surface. The two rows of patch array antennas are each formed of a plurality of patch antennas that are connected together in series. Input terminals of the two rows of patch array antennas are respectively provided as a first connection port and a second connection port. The branch line coupler is provided on the first and second connection ports so as to input a signal through the first connection port and the second connection port. Thus, six diode switches can be used to respectively control connection of the input signal to input terminals of the branch line coupler and at least one terminal device, so as to automatically switch receipt of input signals of three phase differences of -90 degrees, 0 degree, and 90 degrees to thereby achieve switching of three beams.
