Abstract

A high performance power saving method using a plurality of power saving classes (PSCs) to manage sleep mode of terminal equipment in IEEE802.1e wireless network is disclosed. This invention provides two power saving management mechanisms based on a plurality of PSCs in IEEE802.1e wireless network environment. The two methods determine the parameters of PSCs according to the maximum allowable delay bound and packet inter-arrival time respectively. The simulation result shows that the method provided by this invention, in terms of power saving efficiency and resource usage rate, is superior to the method provided by prior arts.
