Abstract
A method for image data registration provides a first image data that is projected to a coordinate axis based on a first sequence and a second sequence respectively so as to dichotomize data point of a first data during every projection and set up a first data tree and a second data tree. An equation is used to calculate a threshold. A data point of a second image data is taken into an enquiry point to search a first closet point corresponding to the enquiry point in the first data tree and a second closet point corresponding to the enquiry point in the second data tree. A distance between the first closet point and the second closet point is also calculated. When the distance is smaller than the threshold, the first closet point and the enquiry point become an effective pair. After completing the enquiry for all data points of the second image data, the number of effective pairs is obtained to modify the threshold and to query again. The number of pairs is then enough to allow the first image data and the second image data to perform registration.
