Abstract

A methodology to identify feature points associated with the cardiac valve movement, heart contraction or cardiac hemodynamics. Mechanocardiography (MCG) spectrum is vibrational waveforms acquired using one or more accelerometer sensors attached on the chest wall over the four cardiac valve auscultation sites. Electrocardiography (ECG) is recorded simultatneously with the MCG spectrum. The feature points were identified by comparing P, R and T points of synchronized ECG with the MCG spectrum. Thereby, this invention reveals the time sequences and amplitudes of the feature points. The new methods may provide additional clinical information of cardiac cycle abnormalities for diagnosis.
