Abstract
The invention relates to a detection module and a method for operating the same utilizing a nano-scale iridium oxide as a detection film. After iridium oxide is in contact with different concentrations of hydrogen peroxides, it will be oxidized or reduced to generate iridium (III) ions (Ir3+) or tripositve or tetrapositive iridium ions to generate voltage shift so that it can determine whether or not hydrogen peroxide is contained in the sample by detecting changes in the voltage. Since the sample is a mixture of serum and benzylamine, the serum would react with benzylamine to produce hydrogen peroxide that is taken as a detection medium when the serum contains LOXL2 enzyme associated with breast cancer.
