Abstract
The present invention provides an electrode for an electrochemical device, which comprises a conductor, and a porous reaction layer formed on the conductor. The porous reaction layer comprises a polymer containing at least a reactive group and a material comprising at least a carboxylic acid group. The reactive group is selected from formula (A) or formula (B), as defined in the specification and claims. The material containing at least one carboxylic acid group is selected from the group of carboxylated carbon material, water-soluble polymer containing a carboxylic acid group or a combination thereof. In the subsequent assembly of the present invention electrode to an electrochemical device, not only the hydrogen peroxide and other analytes can be detected under the reduction potential, but also the response time can be shortened effectively, the sensitivity can be enhanced, the concentration detection range can be enlarged and a minimum detection concentration is provided.
