Abstract
The invented power supply noise (PSN) detector for an integrated circuit is improved with an emphasis on a conventional peak value detector and then is added with a source follower for performing suitable level shifting. The invented detector is applicable to the detection of voltage noises and is characterized in detecting a maximum noise value within a specified time interval and holding the magnitude of its potential for facilitating the processing of next-stage circuit. Thus, the demands and limitation on the operating speed of next-stage circuit are lowered. The simulation results proves that the invented detector is capable of detecting 1 GHz noises within the noise range of 10% to 45% VDD.
