Abstract
The invention provides a hearing protection method comprising the steps of: (a) detecting an audio signal transmitted to a human ear; (b) processing an average audio volume from the audio signal over a period of time to generate an average audio volume and compare it with a preset protection threshold; when the average audio volume exceeds the protection threshold, an alert mode is discerned; and (c) an alert is issued when in the alert mode. Currently there is no hearing protection method and device available in the market that complies with prevention of hearing impairing norms. The method and device of the invention indeed could achieve hearing protection by monitoring audio signals and issuing alerts when a protection threshold is exceeded.
