Abstract

The present invention is a method for detecting peaks and troughs of a signal, comprising the following steps: setting a first signal value, a second signal value and a third signal value from the current sampling time points, the previous sampling time points and the last sampling time of the signal waveform, classifying the first signal value as crest point, trough point, a first false crest point, a second false crest point, a first false trough point or a second false trough point based on the first signal value, the second signal value and the third false peak point, wherein the first false crest point or the first false trough point to be as the crest point or trough point based on followed the second false crest point or the second false trough point, and finally only the crest point or trough point is stored in the storage unit.
