Abstract
This invention relates to a method for designing digital IC of a multi-functional digital protection relays. The method focuses on the digital module part. The voltage and current input signals are first passed through a signal processing module to calculate the fundamental waves of the input voltage and current of the protection relay in order to prevent harmonic components from affecting operation of the protection relay; and the root-mean-square values of the voltage and current are calculated to give a precise value to a post-stage protection module for decision-making, then delivered to a current/undercurrent relay modul and an overvoltage/overvoltage relay module, wherein the digital processing part adopts fast Fourier transform, pipelined architectures, matrix rotation digital computation algorithm to expedite the computation speed and the utilization of the hardware resource, thereby providing a system relay with multiple functions of computation and protection.
