Abstract
The present invention relates to a detection method for identifying complicated PPE (Parapneumonic Pleural Effusion), which uses enzyme immunoassay to detect the protein expression level of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) or/and macrophage inflammatory protein-3 [alpha] in a pleural effusion sample, and compares the protein expression level with the corresponding basic preset level to determine whether the pleural effusion sample is complicated PPE (Parapneumonic Pleural Effusion). With this detection method, patients with complicated PPE (Parapneumonic Pleural Effusion) can be diagnosed from the effusion caused by a variety of different diseases, and appropriate medical treatment can be given in time.
